Assessment 6
-
How actively you engage with your interests and where your motivation is strongest. It combines the signals you choose to share with a research‑informed test to map depth of engagement, patterns of attention and emerging expertise across your topics. It is not a personality or IQ test.
-
About 45 minutes. You can pause at any point and pick up where you left off — your progress is saved to your account as you go.
-
Your browsing history, selected emails if you want, and the interests you already know matter to you. You review every source before anything is analysed and can exclude individual domains, whole categories or a date range. Anything you exclude is never uploaded.
-
Within 24 hours of submitting the test. We email you as soon as your report is ready, and it stays in your account afterwards.
-
An interactive profile: your interests fingerprint map, personal engagement DNA, an interest dimensions map, a detailed review of each interest with expertise markers, and practical recommendations for what to do next.
-
$45, paid once — there is no subscription. If you have a redeem code, you can use it instead of paying.
Platform 6
-
Your FocalBrief account. It is where your report and interests fingerprint live, and where you follow how your interests change over time. More of the platform is on the way, which is why it is marked Soon.
-
Choose Start Test, set up your account, share your signals and take the assessment. Setup takes a couple of minutes, and your report follows within 24 hours.
-
Yes. It is created as part of setup, so your progress, report and settings are kept in one place. Sign in any time with Login at the top of the page.
-
Choose Redeem Code, enter your code and continue to the assessment. The code takes the place of payment, so you will not be asked for card details.
-
Yes. Download it as a PDF to read or share, or as JSON if you want the underlying data. Exports are yours to keep, even if you later delete your account.
-
Yes. Your profile shows how your engagement and expertise compare with other professionals in your field, based on anonymised, aggregated profiles. No one sees your individual data.
Extension 6
-
It keeps your profile current after the assessment. As you browse, it scores your reading focus, updates your expertise in the topics you follow and lets you add pages to your news digest — without exporting your history again.
-
No, but it changes the quality of the result. A one-off history export is a snapshot; the extension keeps the picture current, so engagement and expertise reflect what you actually read now. You can take the assessment without it and add it later.
-
Chrome, and Chromium‑based browsers that install extensions from the Chrome Web Store, such as Edge, Brave and Arc.
-
A daily score for how intensely you read, compared with your own average. A good focus day sits above your average without being overdone, and the extension shows you when that is the case.
-
No. Incognito stays off unless you turn it on, and you can mark any site Don’t track so it is never counted.
-
Pause tracking from the extension menu, or uninstall it from your browser’s extensions page — collection stops straight away. Anything already collected can be deleted from Settings → Data.
Privacy 4
-
No — and the system is built so we can’t. We extract structure, not content: domains, topics, how often you return and when. Message bodies and page text are never stored, and the raw export is processed in an isolated environment and discarded once your profile is built.
-
Raw signals are deleted within 30 days of your report being generated. The report itself stays in your account until you remove it. Ongoing tracking is the only thing that keeps a rolling window of signals, and you can switch it off at any point.
-
Any time, from Settings → Data. Deletion is permanent and propagates through backups within 24 hours. If you want to keep the result, export your report as PDF or JSON first — that copy is yours and stays with you.
